Poukai

The purpose of a POUKAI is simple.

Pou - Poll on which the flag flys : PouKara

Kai - To eat, harvest, festival

Originally the gatherings name was Punakai.

It was to gather the people together and to pull resources.

It appears the name was taken by Titokowaru himself, this was a way to assemble the people, to combine their recourses and to bring together fresh and vibrant ideas.

Long before the name changes occurred gathering went from Punakai and was to be known as Poukai.

It is unclear why or when this occurred, but the main series is the change happened during a kingship of Mahuta 1894-1912
